Green Teen Photography Workshop and Exhibit

  • Sunday, June 5, 2016, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

This year's GREEN TEEN workshop series at Bellefield featured a new workshop in garden photography taught by Elizabeth Unterman at the Garden at Bellefield. The teens learned techniques to use with their smartphones and digital cameras to create images with a strong point of view. Students changed levels, filled the frame with their subjects and carefully considered the background of each image. The resulting photos re-envision the garden in new and exciting ways.

Green Teen is a program of Cornell Cooperative Extension teaching life and work skills through hands-on experiences in farming and gardening, health and nutrition, entrepreneurship and leadership.

The teen workshop series at Bellefield focuses on understanding Farrand's subtle design principles at play in the garden, a masterful use of plants and her pioneering work as both a woman and an innovator in the field of landscape architecture. The students' photographs will be featured in a slide show and exhibit at the Wallace Visitor Center on June 5, 2016 in conjunction with the Bellefield Design Lecture.
