Making Ends Meet - Teaching you how to develop and use a houshold spending budget. Participants will receive a free money management kit.
Credit and Debt Management - How to use credit wisely, pay down debt and obtain a credit report. Participants receive free credit management tools.
$ave Energy, $ave Dollars - Learn about low-cost and no-cost ways to save energy and reduce your energy bills. Also learn about programs that can help you afford energy-efficiency improvements with subsidies, low-interest loans, or free services to qualifying households. Participants receive a kit of energy saving items.

Our MissionThe Family & Consumer Education Program works to improve the well-being of Dutchess County families, individuals, youth and communities through education and change facilitation in the areas of financial management, nutrition, health and parenting.
The Financial Management Education program helps individuals and families improve their economic well-being by providing Bankruptcy Education, Empower Workshops, Family Budget Education Programs, free tax services provided through the Hudson Valley Ca$h Coalition.
Our Food, Nutrition and Wellness Programs help meet the most vital and important nutrition-related concerns of Dutchess County residents of all ages, income and educational level. Through ongoing educational programs, workshops, community-based programs, and informational outreach, families, individuals and youth make wiser choices about healthy eating, being physically active, preparing healthy meals and snacks, practicing safe food handling and storage, stretching food dollars, practicing healthy behaviors while pregnant or breastfeeding, using fresh, locally produced foods, obesity and chronic disease prevention, and overall wellness strategies. These programs include Community Food Security, Eat Smart New York!, The Nutrition Information Program (NIP), Eat Well Play Hard, Plant A Row Garden Project, Nutrition Volunteer Program, and the Nutrition Advisory Council.

The Relatives as Parents Program assists grandparents and other relatives who have taken on the role of primary caregiver through a RAPP 4-H Youth Group, Coffee and Conversation meetings for Kin-caregivers, and Parenting A Second Time Around (PASTA) sessions.
The thirteen Family & Consumer Education staff members are trained professionals in Wellness and Childhood Obesity, Parent and Family Issues, Financial Management, Food Safety, Preservation and Nutrition, and Food Insecurity and Hunger.
Strengthening Dutchess County through community involvement, action, and education.
