Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County welcomes Dr. Michael Woods as new Association Executive Director

After a comprehensive and rigorous search led by a Search Committee comprised of Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County (CCEDC) Board of Directors, stakeholders, and community members, we are proud to announce that Dr. Michael Woods has accepted the position of Executive Director to begin August 17, 2020.

Dr. Woods comes to CCEDC with extensive experience in agribusiness, research, and university leadership. His background includes serving as County Director of a University of Illinois Extension, as well as numerous business leadership and university positions. He holds a PhD in Agricultural/Extension Education, Administration, and Agricultural Marketing Communication, and most recently held the position of Agribusiness Management Assistant Professor and Program Director at Illinois College in Jacksonville, IL. His collaborative approach, business and fiscal savvy, and program planning and oversight skills stand to benefit CCEDC and the community in these unusual and uncertain times, and maintain the Association as strong and resilient as the community it serves and represents. The Board looks forward to working with Dr. Woods to carry out CCEDC’s strategic priorities, vision and mission.

Michael Woods comes to us with a wealth of Extension and nonprofit experience, as well as a positive, can-do spirit. We are very excited to welcome Michael to our community and to begin this new chapter for CCEDC.

Ruth A. Moore, Esq. is retiring and her last day as Executive Director will be August 14, 2020. We cannot thank her enough for the dedication, passion, compassion, and visionary leadership she has provided CCEDC over the past 7+ years, and wish her well in her retirement.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Woods to the Cornell Cooperative Extension family.
