Chelsea started working with the Green Teen program in 2014. She worked as a crew member, then crew leader, and went on to Green Teen’s next -step positions where she worked at other local food and farming organizations. One summer she worked with Land to Learn, where she helped garden at the local elementary schools and taught children about the importance of the local food system and fresh food. The following year she worked for Common Ground Farm and was then hired on as a full-time farmer for 2 years. After growing vegetables for a couple of seasons she wanted to try her hand with animal husbandry and was a milkmaid and cheese making apprentice at a local goat dairy. Chelsea loves growing food, hanging out with her friends and family and can make amazingly real sounding animal calls. Just ask her!
