Helanna has been the Green Teen Coordinator at Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County since 2004. Previously she’s worked as a farm apprentice, a resident counselor in a teen crisis shelter, an educator for arts and education organizations, and various jobs that she made up herself. Helanna has a BFA in Photojournalism from the Rochester Institute of Technology and an MPS in Humanistic Multicultural Education from SUNY New Paltz. When she’s not growing vegetables with teenagers, she can be found hanging out with her family and friends, playing outside, or scheming about what her next adventure will be. She lives in Gardiner with her husband, their 2 daughters, dog, barn cat, and ever changing number of chickens.
