Join Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County and Dutchess County Planning and Development on Wednesday, September 19th from 6pm – 8pm for Energy Efficiency and Smart Growth Community Design. At this forum, you will hear from local experts working within New York State about how you can help your municipality plan for smart growth and a sustainable future. Using the County’s Center’s and Greenspaces Plan, speakers will discuss ways to promote a municipality’s energy efficiency through land use planning, including how density, mixed-use centers, and transit oriented development play important roles.
Certificates of attendance for 2 hours of municipal training credit will be provided.
Presenters include: Paul Beyer, the Director of Smart Growth at the NYS Department of State, and Kale Roberts of ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability
The forum is free and open to the public.
