On Tuesday, March 22nd 2016, Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County, along with partners Crown Maple/Madava Farms, Dutchess County Association of Realtors, and Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, hosted a trainings for realtors: "Everything You Need to Know About Agriculture Acreage"
The training, presented by Jennifer Fimbel (Senior Agricultural Resource Educator) and Sean Carroll (Community GIS/Environmental Educator), focused on providing information on agricultural districts, agricultural value assessment, and using online mapping tools to assist realtors dealing with clients interested in buying land for farming here in Dutchess County.
The training was well attended, with over 60 realtors present, and the setting was Crown Maple's beautiful café and tasting room, complete with lunch catered by the farm business.
