NYSERDA Cleaner, Greener Communities (CGC) Program: Feasibility Study to Expand Organics Recycling in Dutchess County

Our Environment and Energy team at CCEDC has been facilitating a two-and-a-half year study into organic waste reduction, recovery, and recycling potential in Dutchess County through a NYSERDA funded grant opportunity.

The final deliverable of this study is a comprehensive report that summarizes an analysis of education, outreach, research into applicable technologies and business models, spatial analysis of potential recycling facility locations, economic factors, and outreach to the general public regarding organic waste reduction and recycling potential for Dutchess County.

Local Community Participation
The more participation we have from stakeholders regarding existing organic waste reduction and recycling efforts, challenges, and growing initiatives, the better chance such efforts may have of gaining future support, and the greater understanding we will have of the organic waste management landscape in Dutchess County.
