Mid-Hudson Energy Choices: Regional Clean Energy Hub for the Mid-Hudson Region

Energy

Mid-Hudson Energy Choices is a collaboration of Cornell Cooperative Extension offices of Dutchess, Sullivan, Orange, Putnam,, Rockland and Ulster counties, Sustainable Westchester, and New Yorkers for Clean Power. We serve as the NYSERDA Regional Clean Energy Hub for the Mid-Hudson region.

We provide no-cost assistance for homeowners, renters, apartment-dwellers and businesses looking to make their home or workplace safer and more comfortable, while also reducing energy consumption and saving money on energy costs.

Cornell Cooperative Extension and Sustainable Westchester deploy Energy Advisors to help residents and businesses in the Mid-Hudson Valley make informed energy decisions and carry out energy saving projects. We believe in meeting people where they are and moving at the speed of trust to help you make more informed energy decisions.

Energy Advisors are here to help guide you through the process of making your home safer and more comfortable and saving money on your energy bills through energy programs and projects. Energy Advisors can connect you to resources, tools and programs available in your community that can help you save energy and money and be more comfortable in your home.

Here are some of the free services we offer:

  • Explain state and utility programs that can help with heating bills, drafty homes, heating systems, and solar and other clean energy
  • Help residents learn about jobs and job training in clean energy
  • Explain a home energy assessment and how it helps people
  • Help someone fill out an application for energy assistance programs
  • Explain the energy incentives available to a person or business
  • Direct income-eligible residents to home repair programs
  • Help residents learn how to make a home ready for energy improvements
  • Explain electric vehicles, charging stations, and vehicle rebates
  • Help residents find a contractor to make clean energy upgrades
  • Find a community solar program and help residents and businesses sign up for it
