Family, in all its diverse forms, is the heart and backbone of a healthy society. Our mission is to improve the well-being of the family through strength-based programs that educate, influence public policy, and help families put evidence-based information to work in their lives. CCEDC provides support for relative caregivers through monthly meetings, parenting workshops focusing on positive discipline for parents and caregivers, adult leadership development through volunteer involvement and youth development activities.
In the Spring on 2023, some of the adult participants chatted and celebrated with staff about why they are involved in Relatives As Parents Program (RAPP) and volunteered to share their experiences, thoughts and advice for other kinship families* within Dutchess County that are seeking support and resources for the unique challenges their families may be facing.
Raising children is a rewarding but often challenging job, especially in today's society. Our workshops offer parents & guardians the skills to help better understand, guide, & nurture their children
