Join Master Gardener volunteers from Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Dutchess County for an enlightening discussion about the invasive Spotted Lanternfly.
This presentation focuses on the Spotted Lanternfly (Lycorma delicatula), an invasive pest that has become a significant concern throughout the northeastern United States since its arrival from Asia. Participants will learn how to identify the pest at each life stage, explore its preferred host plants (particularly the tree of heaven, grapevines, and hardwoods), and understand the impact of its agricultural and ecological damage. Hear about current research efforts and how to implement effective management strategies. Together, we can protect our environment and promote a healthy ecosystem.
