BEEF CLUB

Here Comes The Beef – It is the goal of the Here Comes the Beef 4-H Club to provide a group environment for youth that are interested in learning about, demonstrating, and promoting the local beef industry. The club will attempt to do this by participating at local shows, touring local beef operations, and by holding fundraisers to support the club. Club involvement in community service, and the promotion of 4-H and the individuals will also be emphasized.

CANINE CLUBS

Top Dogs – Members participate in hands-on learning activities that provide experiences in the area of canine care, training and handling. Activities focus on building positive relationships with both the community and between members and their dogs.

Regular Meeting Time: 2 Saturdays a month at 4pm in Wassaic, Millerton, or Millbrook (location moves)

Northern Dutchess Dairy -

Southern Dutchess Dairy – The Southern Dutchess Dairy 4-H club's major focus is to have a great learning experience about a member's individual strengths and about the dairy industry. Meetings consist of lectures by professionals in the dairy industry, dairy focused labs, exploring skills of showing such as judging and fitting. New members are always welcome. Our members come from many different parts of the county. Meetings are usually held at the Farm and Home Center in Millbrook, however, the club may go on a farm tour or attend a community service event as a meeting.

GENERAL INTEREST CLUBS

Stony Ground – This is a general interest club where members will explore animal husbandry (sheep, poultry & rabbits), art, photography and beekeeping.

Regular Meeting Time: 2nd Monday/month at 6:00 pm in Wappingers Falls

GOAT CLUBS

La-Togge-Nubi-Alpi-Saan – Members participate in community service, cooking, baking, crafts, animal husbandry and elections.

Got Goat Milk - A family oriented club who believes in all the 4 "H's" but most importantly that 4-H should be fun!

Kids 4 Kids - This club is dedicated to knowledge and learning. Members understand the community plays an important part in farming and raising goats. We exhibit the goats, learn about them, and educate the public.

LLAMA & ALPACA CLUB

The Spitters - Our club participates in many activities throughout the year, allowing us to showcase our animals while educating the public about the importance of 4-H. We are future leaders in training and are fortunate to have 4-H in our lives that nurtures and supports these types of initiatives. In addition, one of our members is a registered llama and alpaca animal assisted therapist in the Hudson Valley. We attend and participate annually in parades, festivals, llama/alpaca shows and community days.

POULTRY CLUB

Flock of Feathers – Members learn about and care for poultry, as well as participate in community education, community service, fundraisers and fun/festivity parties.

RABBIT & CAVY CLUBS

Little Paws – We learn about rabbits and guinea pigs while having fun. Our group also does community service to help where we can.

SHEEP CLUB

Golden Fleece – This club holds various activities related to raising sheep. From feeding and choosing show stock to spinning and knitting yarn, this club exposes members to all aspects of being a shepherd.

Dragons and Damsels Entomology Club of Dutchess County - Members research, study insects, and explore the impacts and relationships to ecology. The club is a forum for peer-apprenticeship, study sessions, crafting, identification, field study, environmental impact, and public education. We provide community service by promoting educational workshops for schools and local organizations such as scouting. We table and display at local events for community outreach programming and participate in DEC Citizen Scientist projects. We believe "Knowledge is Power!"

Dutchess County Teen Ambassadors - This is a teen based club for members are 13 yeas of age and older. The club is designed to build leadership skills and life skills through the use of 4-H approved activities. The club is run by the members with guidance and assistance given by 4-H staff.Children participate in the planning and executing of not only their own club related activities but programs within the Dutchess County 4-H Program. Members are offered opportunities to participate in mock job interviews as well as college preparation seminars and budgeting/financing discussions.
