Recycle your home electronics

Hazardous Waste and e-Waste Recycling

Electronics Recycling

All electronics (TVs, computers, cell phones, video game consoles, etc...) must be disposed of separately from your other waste - it is illegal to dispose of them in trash or recycling bins. There are several drop-off locations for reusing or recycling electronics in Dutchess County.

For more information, visit the Dutchess County Division of Solid Waste Management website or the NYSDEC website for more on e-waste recycling.

Household Hazardous Waste

When hazardous materials, such as fluorescent lights, paint, and other chemicals, enter the trash, they can have harmful impacts on the environment. To minimize these impacts, Household Hazardous Waste materials can be dropped off for recycling or reuse. The Dutchess County Resource Recovery Agency hosts Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste disposal days annually. The Dutchess County Division of Solid Waste Management also posts information about upcoming Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste disposal days on their website.
